Robert Hunter is a ceramic artist based in York.

Robert’s practice is deeply inspired by natural materials, from developing glazes to found materials into clay bodies. Working with both stoneware and porcelain, he creates pieces that range from functional tableware to expressive, artistic vessels. He aims to achieve a balance of lightness, functionality, and material integrity, allowing the inherent qualities of the materials to shine through and speak for themselves.

Sustainability:

Robert ensures to get the landowners permission for when he forages for clay to ensure he can tell the story from where the clay is collected. He never collects enough to throw with to ensure he doesn’t disrupt the land and ensuring he don’t leave a footmark.

Caring for the ceramics:

The work is dishwasher safe however washing by hand is recommended.

They are watertight, food and drink safe and oven safe.

They should not go in the microwave.
