Sue Day lives and works in Cambridgeshire. Inspired by a love of books and stationery, Sue was intrigued to discover local bookbinding workshops and subsequently encouraged to pursue her craft. Using traditional bookbinding skills, her books are mostly contemporary, covered with beautiful decorative and handmade papers from around the world (some local). Covers also include upcycled fabrics (including vintage kimono silks) and vegan, eco-friendly cork.
Sue introduced the cork range a few years ago. Cork is environmentally sustainable and naturally renewable. It is produced from the bark of the Cork Oak tree and coloured with natural dyes. Cork forests are protected by law and sustainably harvested, allowing the trees to regenerate their bark naturally every seven years or so. This cork fabric is backed with a mix of recycled cotton and recycled polyester and the journals are filled with recycled paper.
Coptic Stitch Journals/Sketchbooks
Coptic binding is an ancient method of exposed spine binding - simple, yet striking, with visible stitching and deceptively strong. This binding form allows the book to lay flat when opened. The journals are filled with FSC approved plain paper.
Concertina Photograph Albums
These are a simple and transportable way to beautifully display 12 favourite photographs or memories. They are filled with FSC approved 270gsm black card
Cork Wrap Journals
Made with eco-friendly sustainable cork and filled with good quality 120gsm recycled paper and tied with a faux suede cord.
