Printmaking artist Beth Knight has recently moved back to her home country of Wales from Suffolk and is currently working from her home studio near Cardigan in North Pembrokeshire. She is inspired by the spirit of nature and the stories within landscapes. Her pieces are based on real places and experiences that evoke those moments of connection between our ancestral souls and the elemental spirits of nature - a certain sensation she feels when experiencing the wonder of the natural world!

Using the medium of printmaking, Beth endeavours to capture this sense of wonderment in art. The bold and unexpected results of printmaking have been themes that Beth has always been drawn to throughout her education and creative practice. She specialises in highly detailed and multi layered lino cuts, sometimes combining this with hand colouring using water colours; creating pieces with depth and atmosphere and developing techniques to capture light, distance and detail. More recently she has also been exploring mono printing techniques and experimenting with collage using pieces cut from her original test prints.

Being a nature lover and finding joy in being out in the countryside she finds her inspiration in her local landscapes and the patterns and details in branches, stems and leaves that catch her eye on her daily walks. She hopes to capture the magic and mystery of nature in her prints and draw the viewer in to the image so that they can imagine being there and feel the atmosphere of the moment, evoking and capturing our emotional connection with our landscape.
