Penny is fascinated by the way ceramics replicates the geological processes of the Earth using the four elements of earth, air, fire and water. She lives on the edge of the Peak District; often depicting the moors, marshes and rocky edges through glazes.

She works with soft thrown forms which she flattens to create elongated shapes with broad surfaces, over which the glaze is applied. In the high stoneware temperatures of the kiln the glazes melt and blend. There are always surprises when the kiln is opened.

The pots are watertight and can be used as vases. They should be handwashed with soap or detergent.
