Plants

If you've walked by our shop recently, you may have noticed that our window display has acquired some new inhabitants. They are cute succulents lovingly grown by gallery assistant Gonda.

Gonda's parents' garden

In Gonda's family, the love of gardening is somewhat of a genetic trait. Her parents, grandparents and several aunts and uncles are all avid gardeners with a strong tradition of growing their own vegetables, flowers and plants. Whenever they get together, the conversation will inevitably turn to the topic of what's growing in their gardens and they rarely visit each other without bringing some of their homegrown goodies along to share.

When Gonda moved away from home, she really missed her parents' beautiful garden. This is when the green gene kicked in and she started her own indoor garden from a few cuttings of her mother's plants. She has been filling up her windowsills ever since, one plant at a time. There is something very satisfying about watching the seeds and shoots that you've planted sprout up and flourish. Gonda thoroughly enjoys watching her baby plants grow and she loves giving them away to friends and sharing her budding enthusiasm for gardening with other people. Bringing her succulents to her place of work as well was just the next natural move.

These succulents are very easy to take care of, they just need some daylight and a bit of water once a week, so they are perfect for first-time plant-keepers and anyone who's a little bit nervous about not being able to keep plants alive. They are such a great way to brighten up your home or office space and if you take good care of them they might reward you with a few baby plants so you can start propagating your own!
