Emma is an artist local to Cambridge and the surrounding countryside. She works on a tabletop that juggles art, food, and an inquisitive cat.
Originally, Emma studied fine art and then completed an MA in Children’s Book Illustration, which developed her love of visual story telling. Currently, her work focuses on collage, painting and explorations into printmaking. She has also developed her collages into a range of greetings cards.
She loves to experiment with pattern making and mediums. Her collages are made from hand painted papers, layered onto a painted background, using mediums such as acrylics, inks and wax resist. Often, discarded prints and paintings will find their way into the images, as collage papers – so nothing is wasted!
Inspiration comes from eclectic influences, such as the natural world, patterns, books, films, favourite places and beautiful objects – they all feed into her work.
