It was lovely to meet Elin Horgan for the first time when she came across to Cambridge for her talk and demonstration on Saturday. We have been showing Elin's jewellery in the gallery for just over a year after having fallen in love with her designs when Elin emailed the gallery in 2014 to introduce herself.
Elin spoke about how she is inspired by architecture, abstract art and bold geometric shapes. We currently sell both her Geometrics and Modern Deco Collections. Her new Modern Deco collection takes classic Art Deco details and updates them with a contemporary twist. Strong shapes and pared back simplicity give the collection a modern feel whilst retaining the rectilinear style of the period and each piece is named after a film star of the 20s and 30s. While the Geometrics collection explores different shape combinations and repeated elements to produce jewellery that is bold and striking whilst remaining lightweight and wearable.
We will be running talks, workshops and demonstrations in the gallery throughout the year with our gallery artists, see our events page to find out more!
