Belinda Norrington

Belinda Norrington is the designer-maker behind Wild Acre jewellery, working in precious metals and gemstones. Her jewellery-making is an exploration of the beautiful combinations of textures and forms found in the natural landscape. The curl of a leaf, the curious shapes of seedheads, the subtle patterns and textures of bark or the spiral of a seashell - these are all exquisite things that catch her eye and find their way into her making. At the heart of Wild Acre, are tiny, wild elements of the British landscape, carefully observed and crafted by hand into pieces of precious jewellery. These pieces are quiet, tactile reminders of the tranquility of our precious natural environment, evoking memories and feelings of place for the wearer.

Wild Acre jewellery seeks to celebrate the subtle textures found in nature using simple, organic shapes and unfussy lines. The resulting pieces are often understated and tactile, and those imprinted with real botanical material form a permanent record of current British flora within their design.

Belinda also seeks to respect the natural world that inspires her. Her studio practice is as environmentally-friendly as possible, finding non-toxic alternatives for traditionally used chemicals, offering 100% recycled silver and gold, fair trade gemstones and using bio-degradable, mainly recycled products for all packaging and promotional material. Wild Acre jewellery is undeniably luxurious, but it is also mindfully created.
