Rachel Grant

Rachel Grant is a textile artist whose mixed media process has led to a distinctive style that is achieved through the layering of collage, acrylic, machine stitch, screen and transfer print onto stretched canvas.

Her work is largely inspired by narratives and the powerful meanings behind them and more recently she has become interested in the metaphors that we can draw from nature's cycle of seasons and growth.

The various metaphors within the pieces combine to explore notions of personal renewal, development, relationships and well being. The 'stories' within the pieces are left open, bringing with us our personal experiences and understanding we interweave our own life stories into the reading of the work and create our own interpretation.

Rachel regularly exhibits her mixed media canvas panels in gallery settings all over the UK whilst also working on socially engaged projects, commissions and collaborations. You can read more about these on her website: www.rachel-grant.com
