Since completing my degree in Textiles at Norwich School of Art and Design I have continued to make craft pieces with a historical content.

My work involves the art of vintage craft with particular reference to mending and hand embroidery. I collect objects from the past and re-use them to make a contemporary statement for the home today. From being kept in tins and jars for many years I wish to use the household garment button in a different context so it can be seen and used to show the many designs and forms once again.

My knowledge of traditional hand embroidery techniques began from an early age by the skills passed down through generations of my family and these stitches are used to illustrate contemporary design in my work.
