Lis Toft

List Toft is a ceramic artist specializing in porcelain jewellery. Lis studied at Bath academy of Art and has a BA in Fine Art. She subsequently studied ceramics at the Isle of Wight College. Her studio is part of an arts complex on Newport Quay, Isle of Wight.

With her jewellery Lis believes that the smallest piece of clay can be worked into an object of fascination. The Costume Drama Collection is porcelain jewellery with theatrical romantic references. Hand formed porcelain pieces are combined with sterling silver and occasional accent pearls. Elegant painted patterns adorn tiny shoes, gloves and masks. Emblems of freedom and love; birds, flowers, hearts, dangle and cluster. Salvaged fragments of old lace emboss surfaces. This is contemporary jewellery with echoes of times past.
