Liesel BarkerCrisp graphic illustrations and pattern silkscreened onto glass bring a unique twist to Liesel Barker's kiln fused glass. The artist relates and is inspired by the work of designers of the early twentieth-century Arts and Craft Movement and this is reflected in the work. Liesel's designs are influenced by nature and mostly of a botanical theme, however highly stylised to give the work a sophisticated and contemporary feel. Vibrant, rich colours in the form of both translucent and opaque glass enamels are used, together with mirror to bring the glass to life. Sterling silver is incorporated in an understated way as a compliment to the glass, its function being to turn small jewel-like pieces of glass into modern wearable jewellery, where the emphasis is placed on quality and craftsmanship. Prices range from: £11 - £83 |
