Originally a student of photography, Janet uses photographic techniques sensitively to create dynamic texture and pattern within her jewellery.

She duplicates often neglected glimpses of items from our everyday world, highlighting and manipulating the beauty of their shapes and forms. Visually transformed into engaging and dynamic imagery, she provides these glimpses with permanence, lacing her jewellery with pattern.

Janet's jewellery is designed to engage both the wearer and the viewer. Using both modern technologies and traditional techniques she not only works in silver alone, but frequently combines silver with colourful plastics connecting materials through pattern and form. The transparent plastic invites attention, distorting patterns when viewed from different angles.
