S J Miller

My decorations are made to adorn your home all year round and are intended to make you smile.

The decorations range from the purely decorative heart series, to the angels. Hang them up for Easter, birthdays, Christmas or just because it is Tuesday. They can express how you feel or you can let someone know you think they are quite unusually brilliant, or a genius of ginormous proportions.

All decorations are made from porcelain, the finished piece becomes almost translucent. Whilst producing a exquisite finish, porcelain is one of the most difficult clays to work with, not tolerating any mistakes in making. Not all decorations survive the 3 firings they are put through. There is still always a joy from opening the kiln and discovering what treasures are inside.

The hearts are decorated with blue, red and white glazes before their final lustre firing which produces the metallic finish. Then the angels undergo a third firing to melt the text onto the glaze.
After the decorations are unpacked from the kiln I thread them all with gold or silver threads, add glass bead pearls to the hearts and pack them into their gift boxes. Then they are finished and ready to hang in your home!

Prices range from: £9 - £50
