Mary McFadden

Mary began her career as a freelance artist working for various advertising agencies during the 1990s. During this time she studied ceramics part-time at Saint Martins College London and City Lit London. Having gained a variety of experience she developed her unique style and now runs her own business from her studio in Kent.
Mary has always had a fascination for different textures and she finds that clay is the perfect medium from which she can transfer bold and intricate textual details. Indeed, whilst out walking in the beautiful Kent countryside she is surrounded by a variety of interesting natural textures such as delicate leaves and grasses, tree-bark and other natural materials. Then back in her studio she arranges the collected textures into a meadow landscape, picture or design to compliment the shape of the hand-made jugs, coasters or pebbles.
